Q: Who can use the Computer Lab?
A: Students, faculty, and staff of the following:
- Comprehsive Cancer Center
- Prior Health Sciences Library and CKM
- Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology
- Center for Molecular Neurobiology
- Nisonger Center
- Colleges of Medicine and Public Health, Dentistry, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine
- Schools of Allied Medical Professions, Biomedical Science, and Public Health
- Medical Center Personnel
Q: How do I gain access to the Lab?
A: A card reader will be installed in 2006. A Medical Center ID or a BuckID affliated with any of the aforementioned colleges will be required to gain access.
Q: Why is access being limited?
A: An increased utilization of computer-enhanced learning in the health sciences has resulted in an increased demand for lab access by health sciences students and faculty. Limiting access will help insure the Lab continues to be available to Health Sciences students and faculty in order to meet our educational mission and purpose.
Q: Isn't the Prior Lab run by OIT and open to all students?
A: The Lab has been managed by the Library/Center for Knowledge Management since June 2004. It is a departmental facility and is not a part of the OIT Student Computer Center pool.
Q: Where is the closest OIT Lab?
A: Visit the complete list of OIT Student Computer Centers for the one which is the most convenient.
Q: When does limited access start?
A: Early 2006
