Reserve the Lab

Lab Scheduling Policies

The classroom portion of the lab has 45 computers, plus an instructor's machine.

Faculty and staff may schedule the lab only one quarter in advance without special permission and scheduling is on a first-come first-served basis.  Students may not reserve the lab directly, however a sponsoring advisor/ faculty member is required to place a reservation.

Priority scheduling will be given to College of Medicine and Public Health and Medical Center personnel. The library retains the right to reschedule any request when a conflict with a priority user occurs.

Our software list can be found on our home page. Should additional software be needed, the lab will obtain copies of any software identified as being site-licensed by the University. The list of this software can be found on the OIT site.

If the software is not on this list, the requesting instructor is responsible for providing any additional software required and must provide proof of licensure, number of clients licensed, and length of license. Additional software must be provided by the requester no later than 10 business days before the scheduled event.

Users will need to use their OSU (lastname.#) credentials to access the internet.  Guest accounts will be needed for all non-OSU personnel who require internet access.  These accounts can be obtained by filling out the form at:  http://8help.osu.edu/forms/workshop.html at least one week prior to the event date.  If internet access is not required, then guest accounts will not be needed at all.

The lab computers currently have a limited capacity to access OneSource and sites posted on the OSUMC internal network. If you anticipate using OneSource or other internal OSUMC sites, please stop by in advance to confirm that our computers can visit any necessary webpages.

The Prior Health Sciences Library is presently under construction as we undergo the addition of two floors to the top of the building. We expect the construction project to continue through Autumn 2011. We apologize for any noise interference produced by this project. If for any reason the lab needs to close to accommodate construction, the lab scheduler will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of the conflict.
