Q: The website I'm trying to view wants to open a new window, but when I click the link nothing happens. What's wrong?
A: The computer lab is running Windows XP Service Pack 2. With service pack 2 there are many security enhancements including a built in pop up blocker in Internet Explorer. Most WebCT quizzes open in a pop-up window and therefore maybe getting blocked. You may also need to allow pop-ups for other web sites that provide content through a pop-up window. To allow pop-up windows do the following:
- Go to the web page that launches the pop up. Once you click on the link that launches the pop-up you should see a yellow bar come up under the address bar.
- Click on the yellow bar to open the context menu.
- Choose "Always Allow Pop-Ups from This Site".
- The page should refresh itself. Now click on the pop-up launching link again and the window should open.
