CKM Services Support 7th Annual OSUMC Research Day

Research Day is an annual event featuring the biomedical research conducted by researchers in biomedical science within the OSU Medical Center. This year marks the 7th year of the event, and the 6th that the CKM has been involved. One of the major ways in which the CKM supports Research Day is through the printing of many of the research posters that the students present at the event. CKM PRINTservices also designs and prints large format posters and flyers that promote the event and direct traffic at the venue. CKM WEBservices also manages the Research Day Web site and online abstract submission process that makes reviewing and accepting presentations much easier. In addition, WEBservices compiles all this data into a Word document which is the core of the event program. With over 300 abstract submissions submitted this year, automating this process has proved to be very efficient for the Research Day staff. The Research Day Web site also incorporates functionality for judges to volunteer for the event. They select times and research categories to aid with matching them to participants. Once matching is complete, judges are sent an auto-generated email with a password to view their assignments online. This project continues to evolve each year with enhancements and improvements.
